The image is mysterious. What is it comprised of?

I can never know how someone else experiences a photograph or work of art that I’ve created.

I experience great joy and sorrow - feeling - and excitement. And in this state my perspective shifts, and I feel the urge to explore it further and focus on it through my tools of cameras, editing, sound, etc.

I can be there without my tools, too.

So what makes an image captivating? The captivation of the image-maker (artist) with the subject. The subjects of my captivation are rainbows, nature, beauty, light, fairies, and spirits we can’t see without shifting our perspective from the everyday, hegemonic mode into that of the supernatural.

I like to stare without staring, see without seeing. It’s intuition and mysterious inspirations that I trust and follow, leading me through exciting, creative journeys that produce images. I feel almost like a con. It is not me thinking, pre-planning or perfecting this creation beforehand. There is a willingness and a trust that if I should choose to engage in this magnetic whim, then it shall evolve and grow.

I don’t really know what to do with the products and output because it’s being in the space of creation, the unknown and the captivation that matters to me. These images are almost an afterthought.

But I feel compelled to share. I can’t explain. They have a life of their own, and they are asking me to release them into their own unknown journeys.

I really can’t explain.

The urge to create naturally arises when I feel my energy get excited. When I shift and feel and “see” that magic world unveil itself.

I suppose I do want to use these photos as keys in the keyholes of people’s minds, to unlock doors they didn’t know were there - to open others to experiencing this dimension in their own lives.
